The Schedule of the Tournament are as such:

8 students had been selected to represent Gek Poh Ville Community Club for the KUS National Tournament. They are Ivan, Jan, Praveen, Nurfarah, Jerome, Casey and Charles. Please attend tomorrow combine training at Singapore Polytechnic conduct by Shihan Seng.

Time: 0830hrs to 1800hrs

Participation Fees: $35/- (Inclusive of a meal, refreshment and one KUS badge)

Rules:

The competition will be using WKF version 6 except for events from 6 yrs to 13 yrs which will adopt KUS rules for competition.

Kata:

a. For 6 yrs to 13 yrs old, competitor is allow to repeat the kata after 2nd round.

b. For 14 yrs old and above, competitor is not allow to repeat their kata. (Shitei or Tokui kata)

Kumite:

Protection for kumite does not need to be approved by the WKF.

a. Karate Mitts (Red and Blue colour only)

b. Shin-Pad and Foot Protector (Red and Blue colour only)

c. Female Chest Protector (White colour & optional); and

d. Gum Shield

Duration of Bout:

a. Men Kumite will be 3 mins and 4 mins for Medal Bout.

b. Female Kumite will be 2 mins and 3 mins for Medal Bout.

c. Junior, Cadet and below will be 1.5 mins.


Event Catergories:

There will be a Karate Grading on this coming saturday, 16 October 2010. The program as follow:

1700hrs - Warm Up
1740hrs - Kihon I and Kihon Ido I (White belt and yellow belt)
1800hrs - Kihon II and Kihon Ido II (Green belt and brown belt)
1830hrs - Kumite (Green belt and Brown belt)
1845hrs - Fallout

1. Sparring Glooves
2. Mouth Guard

1. Student is to arrive 30 mins early before the 1st event.

Dear all
Please take note of the following announcement:

1. 18 Sep 2010 Grading will be postponed till later date. 
2. There will be a combine training on 18 Sep 2010 in Singapore Polytechnic and follow by a friendly tournament. After which, there will be a group photo with our Chief Instructor, Hanshi Alvin Tan.
3. Karate class will resume on 25 Sep 2010 at Gek Poh Ville Community Club.
